MADISON – Vice President Kamala Harris will make her fifth appearance in Wisconsin on Thursday since becoming the Democratic nominee for president.

Harris is expected to appear at a smaller event in Ripon in the afternoon.

Here's what you should know:

Where will Harris speak?

Harris is scheduled to hold her event at Ripon College.

Founded in 1851, the college is considered a leader in liberal arts education.

However, Ripon has a larger significance. The Republican Party was founded in the city in 1854 in a one-room schoolhouse. Harris will point to the history of the traditional party and appeal to independent and Republican voters.

What time?

Harris is scheduled to take the stage at 5 p.m

Is the event public?

No, the event is not open to the public for this visit.

How can I watch?

Visit Kamala Harris' YouTube page to watch a livestream of the event.

Is anyone else performing besides Harris?

Former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney is also scheduled to appear alongside Harris. Cheney and her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, have both supported Harris.

In September, Liz Cheney said she had thought deeply about the endorsement and that Donald Trump needed to be prevented from holding office again.

“As a conservative, as someone who believes in and cares about the Constitution, I have thought deeply about this, and because of the danger that Donald Trump poses, not only will I not vote for Donald Trump, but I will vote for Kamala Harris “vote,” she said, according to the New York Times.

What will she talk about?

Harris will claim she will put “country over party” and release a list of Republicans who have endorsed her.

What is the state of the race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump?

The last two Marquette University Law School polls of Wisconsin voters have shown Harris with a 4-point lead over former President Donald Trump in Wisconsin, including a poll released Wednesday. These results were within the poll's margin of error and predicted a close race in the state.
