What will the weather be like in Denver today? | Weather

Another day of above-average temperatures Wednesday around Denver before an approaching borderline low pushes much-needed moisture into the state.

From Friday the temperatures will also drop by 15 to 30 degrees and will last until the weekend.

Denver residents can expect sunny skies today, with a high around 79 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. South winds will blow at a speed of 3 to 8 miles per hour.





“It will be a windy day across the Eastern Plains with wind gusts up to 30-40 mph,” the NWS said. “Although relative humidity does not meet the Red Flag Warning criteria, elevated fire weather conditions are possible this afternoon, particularly in the Palmer Divide.”

Scattered showers with no precipitation are possible in areas above 8,000 feet this afternoon.

Tonight skies will be partly cloudy, with a low around 51. Southwest winds will be between 7 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph.

Thursday: Increasing cloudiness, with a high near 73. Southwest wind 10 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Friday: There is a 40% chance of rain, mostly after midday. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. Southwest wind 8 to 14 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Wind gusts can reach up to 29 miles per hour.

Saturday: Rain is likely, mainly before midday. Mostly cloudy, with a high around 51 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 70%.

Sunday: There is a chance that it will rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 63.
