(CBS DETROIT) – Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin is holding a news conference Wednesday afternoon to discuss it Race for Michigan's open U.S. Senate seat.

CBS News Detroit will broadcast live coverage at 2:30 p.m

Slotkin and the former Republican congressman are vying for the vacant seat held by longtime U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, who is stepping down after more than two decades

In August elementary schoolSlotkin defeated actor Hill Harper, while Rogers defeated former MP Justin Amash and Sherry O'Donnell. Days after they won their main races, Both candidates were targeted in separate swatting incidents.
