Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels is expected to start against the Chicago Bears

Landover, MD. – The Washington Commanders received some good news ahead of Sunday’s Week 9 game against the Chicago Bears.

After losing quarterback Jayden Daniels on the first offensive possession of the game last week, the Commanders spent the week trying to figure out whether he would be available for this weekend's game.

Daniels missed the first two days of practice this week, but Washington was able to get him up with some reps on Friday, which led to more testing on Saturday and Sunday, and according to FOX's Jay Glazer, everything went well and the quarterback will not only be active, wants but going up against the Bears.

“Jayden Daniels is expected to start today against the Bears,” the network said in a social media post along with a video of Glazer’s report

Daniels still has to go through his usual warm-up routine before the game, but as long as there are no setbacks, it looks like the NFL will get its matchup between the No. 2 overall pick in this year's NFL Draft and the No. 1 overall pick Pick: Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams.

Both teams have impressed and exceeded many expectations this season, with Washington off to a 5-2 start this season while the Bears enter the weekend with a 4-2 record following a bye.

The game kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET at Northwest Stadium.
