Wanda Smith's death was announced the day after her birthday

Beloved comedian and radio host Wanda Smith has reportedly died at the age of 58. The news was announced this evening – just a day after it happened on October 11th.

The Miami native was best known for her on-air career as co-host of the Atlanta radio show Frank and Wanda in the morning. She hosted the morning show from 1998 to 2012, spent four years with Ryan Cameron from 2014 to early 2018, and then joined Frank Ski again for another stint at the station (according to WSBtv.com). Smith received writing credits for Def Comedy Jam and for his appearances in the films Madea goes to prison, Madea's Witness ProtectionAnd The drone that saved Christmas.

Her boisterous personality and laughing legacy are evident in the condolences spreading across social media.
