Tyler Smith of the Dallas Cowboys will start at left tackle against the Detroit Lions

Tyler Smith of the Dallas Cowboys will start at left tackle against the Detroit Lions

The Dallas Cowboys will face the Detroit Lions, a game at AT&T Stadium in which the home team is the absolute underdog.

A lot of that has to do with the fact that Detroit fields one of the best rosters in the NFL. While the status of Dallas' roster is debatable, whatever you think about it, it's certainly been impacted by the many injuries the team has been dealing with lately.

Among the Cowboys' many problems on the injury front is that rookie and first-round pick Tyler Guyton had to leave last week's win at Pittsburgh early due to an injury. Guyton is active for the game against the Lions but will not start, according to Kristi Scales of Dallas Cowboys Radio.

It is unknown if Guyton's decision was influenced at all by injury. When he left against the Steelers, the Cowboys dropped Tyler Smith at left tackle, Tyler will play that position against the Lions, and had TJ Bass step in at left guard. Some felt that this overall group was the better one for now. Maybe that's a factor.

Whatever the case here is how the Cowboys will play against the Lions.
