Trump vs. Harris: US election polls point to a tense ending as these key states are too close to call

With just a week until Election Day, polls show a tight race between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump. Here's a look at recent national and state polls, each adding a new layer to the unpredictable race:

The latest polls show a tight race between the two presidential candidates in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and North Carolina.

The New York Times poll national average gives Kamala Harris a razor-thin lead at 49% compared to 48% for Donald Trump.

With 19 electoral votes and no specific direction, Pennsylvania is likely to be the deciding factor this election season.

The latest polling averages show Trump leading by 2% in Pennsylvania, while Harris is ahead by 1.4 points nationally. Still, Harris is doing better in Pennsylvania than Biden did at the beginning of the year.

Nationally, Harris leads statewide by 3%, 50% to 47%, in a poll of 8,807 likely voters, according to a Morning Consult poll. The results suggest voters' positive views of Harris have increased, but 49% have also heard negative news about Trump. The survey has a margin of error of 1%.

Reuters/Ipsos shows Harris with a razor-thin lead of 44% to 43% in favor of Trump among 975 registered voters. Among the most likely voters, Harris leads 47% to 46%. She has led every Reuters/Ipsos poll of registered voters since July.

A SurveyUSA/WRAL poll of North Carolina voters shows Harris and Trump tied at 47% among 853 likely voters in the state. This suggests a statistical deadlock in a key battleground state with 16 electoral votes.

USA TODAY/Suffolk poll shows Trump ahead in Wisconsin by just 1%, 48% to 47%. A gender gap here shows Harris winning by 14% among women, while Trump is leading among men by 18%.

The MinnPost-Embold poll shows Harris leading by a 48% to 45% margin, with the number of undecided voters in the state of Minnesota shrinking by 10 votes

The WDIV/Detroit News poll shows Harris with a slight lead of 47% to 44%, with 41% of Michigan voters prioritizing jobs and the economy.

The TIPP tracking poll gives Harris a 48% lead to Trump's 47% in a three-day survey of 1,291 voters. The poll suggests national economic discontent that could impact Harris.

While each poll tells a different part of the story, these close results point to a likely sticking point as voter turnout and undecided voters potentially impact key states.
