Travis Kelce's cocky four-word message to the Raiders after the road win

Travis Kelce's cocky four-word message to the Raiders after the road win

Travis Kelce was confident after his best game of the season, the Chiefs' 27-20 win over the Raiders on Sunday.

“We run this city,” the All-Pro tight end said as he left the field at Allegiant Stadium.

Kelce, who was Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes' top target, scored his first touchdown of the season in the second quarter to give the Chiefs a 14-10 lead.

He had 10 catches for 90 yards, both season highs, as the Chiefs improved to 7-0 – as they remained the NFL's only undefeated team.

Kelce's 75th career touchdown reception, which came on National Tight Ends Day, surpassed Jason Witten for fifth place on the NFL tight end list.

He is currently two points shy of breaking Tony Gonzalez's team record.

The three-time Super Bowl champion fired the ball into the end zone while celebrating his score.

Kelce has been open about his slow start early in the season as his targets and catches declined.

After the 35-year-old only managed eight catches in the first three games, there was a lot of criticism.

“I think this year the stats might say something different, but at the same time you're going to see the same person in this building and that's all I really care about,” Kelce said in late September. “I am my own worst critic. Everything outside this building is just noise.”

Allegiant Stadium was a fitting place for Kelce to stage a comeback game.

Just ten months earlier, the Chiefs defeated the 49ers in an overtime thriller in Las Vegas to win Super Bowl LVIII.

The Chiefs face the Buccaneers on November 4th in Kansas City.
