Travelers can now take two new nonstop flights from Wilmington

Travelers now have the option to choose between two new nonstop flights from Wilmington International Airport.

Avelo Airlines announced Thursday that passengers can now travel to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers, Florida, and Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Connecticut.

According to a press release from Avelo, both routes will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays using a next-generation Boeing 737 aircraft.

“We are pleased that Avelo is growing with these two new non-stop flights at ILM. With the addition of Fort Myers and Hartford, travelers can now choose between eight nonstop flights on Avelo, all with everyday fares,” Jeff Bourk, ILM airport director, said in the release.

According to Avelo, one-way fares start at $46.

According to the airline, Avelo is the first airline to offer non-stop services between ILM and the two destinations. These destinations make up a total of eight nonstop destinations that Avelo offers from Wilmington.

Other destinations include Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) in southern Connecticut, Washington, DC/Baltimore (BWI), Philadelphia/Delaware Valley (ILG), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Orlando (MCO) and Tampa (TPA).

Andrew Levy, founder and CEO of Avelo Airlines, said in the press release that since the airline launched service at ILM just over two years ago, Avelo continues to offer Wilmington-area travelers “a new era of affordability, convenience and…” “Industry-leading reliability.”

“We are excited to grow at ILM and offer two new nonstop destinations to Fort Myers and Hartford. “It's also clear that the quick and easy travel-friendly experience that ILM offers has played an equally important role in inspiring over 125,000 people to fly,” Levy said.
