My goodness, how quickly time flies when you're having fun. Or if you're not having fun! Time just seems to pass without any regard for us mere mortals. We're just one day away from Halloween. I chose a costume: The Dude by The Big Lebowski. I even found the exact clothes he was wearing, so I bought those instead of a costume. The real sweater, the pajama pants, the sunglasses. It's the kind of thing you can wear at any time. It's funny, the guy was such a bum, but he wore nice designer clothes and wore expensive sunglasses. Imagine that.

It's Wordle Wednesday, so here's your puzzle:

I can start or end a war. I can give you the strength of heroes or leave you powerless. A look may lure me into a trap, but no force can force me to stay. What am I?

I'll post the answer tomorrow, but feel free to message me when you've solved the problem!

In any case, it's Wordle time!

Word analysis

Every day I look at Wordle Bot to analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here.

PEARL was once again a great starting guess. Since I still have 11 words left, you would think that things might have turned out better for me, especially since I already had so many boxes. I almost came up with STEAL next, but I was afraid that if I didn't look for more letters I would have too many possible answers. BUNGS was an attempt to shorten as many words as possible and it worked almost like a charm. Since EASEL and STEAL were still left, I went with my first choice and . . . Unfortunately I was wrong. Easel for the win!

Today's Wordle etymology

The word easel comes from the Dutch word ezelwhich means “donkey”. This term was adopted in the 16th century and reflects the idea of a donkey as a supportive beast of burden, similar to how an easel carries a canvas for painting. Over time, easel was adopted into English with the same meaning.
