ForbesToday's NYT “Connections” tips and answers for Wednesday, October 9th

Hey people! Before we begin, I have to apologize. I initially included all the answers in yesterday's guide when I revealed the group names for the first time. This should be the last clue. I'm very, very sorry for spoiling anyone's game yesterday. This sucks and is entirely on my shoulders. No excuses.

I don't take it lightly that so many people read this column every day. Your trust is important to me and I will try not to make this mistake again. (Thanks to those of you who reached out to let me know about my error.)

However, I hope you have a fantastic week. I'm obsessed with the new alarm clock that Nintendo announced out of nowhere. It seems both adorable and deeply unnecessary, so of course I ordered one straight away.

Anyway, let's get on with the show. Today NYT Connections Hints and answers are coming soon.

How to play connections

Connections is a free, popular one New York Times daily pun. You will receive a new puzzle every day at midnight. You can play on that NYT Website or gaming app.

You will be presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to divide them into four groups of four by figuring out the connections between them. The groups can be items you can click on, names of research participants, or words preceded by a body part.

Each puzzle has only one solution and you need to be careful when it comes to words that could fit into more than one category. You can mix up the words to perhaps better see the connections between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to understand, blue and green are in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often contains puns.

Select four words that you think go together and click Send. If you guess and are wrong, you lose a life. When you're close to finding the right group, you may see a message saying you're one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which word to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let's make sure that this doesn't happen with the help of some tips, and if you really find it difficult, even with today's ones Connections Answer. Like with Wordle and other similar games, it's easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

A second perfect game in a row gives me five wins in a row. This is what happened to me:

This was one of those grids that made me smile as soon as I saw it. Sixteen three letter words. Okay, then!

However, I didn't have any major problems with it at all. The Blues immediately caught my eye, and although FLY was a possible red herring, I had my first group.

Next came the yellows. I say RAD all the time, that helped me get the greens and leave the purples for another win.

I actually wanted to use a very appropriate Bill & Ted supercut for the green clue, but I couldn't find one that quite worked, dude. You can still enjoy this:

That's all for today Connections Hints and answers. Be sure to check out my blog for tips and the walkthrough for Friday's game if you need them.

PS: It's a controversial movie, so I'm only adding it here because it's mentioned in today's game, but in the original Seen is actually a good thriller. It's not nearly as unnecessarily cruel as the hit-and-miss, twist-filled sequels and features some solid performances. The unrated version will be in cinemas this month Seen20th anniversary that makes me feel absolutely old:
