THUNDERBOLTS* trailer could finally solve the years-long mystery surrounding the new owner of Avengers Tower

THUNDERBOLTS* trailer could finally solve the years-long mystery surrounding the new owner of Avengers Tower

In Spider-Man: Homecomingwe learned that Tony Stark had decided to sell the Avengers Tower. For years, there has been wild speculation about who bought the landmark. Among the many rumors are all sorts of people, from the Kingpin to a version of Kang the Conqueror to the Fantastic Four.

None of this worked out, and Marvel Studios has avoided giving us any answers. Oddly, the building wasn't even shown in shots of the Big Apple, probably to avoid giving anything away.

Kevin Feige confirmed that answers are coming while he is promoting Deadpool and Wolverine and today's Thunderbolts* The trailer may have solved this years-long mystery once and for all.

As you can see below, it looks like the scene when the team arrives to confront Valentina Allegra de Fontaine takes place in what was once Avengers Tower, with Val standing next to a bar that is almost certainly the same one Tony Stark used during his confrontation with Loki in 2012. The Avengers.

There are some minor changes, but the similarities are too striking to ignore and cannot be a coincidence. If it is true that Thunderbolts*' Asterisk refers to “New Avengers” or “Dark Avengers”, so why didn't Val set both them and herself in the real team's former home? The windows and the New York skyline are another clear clue.

In the comics, Norman Osborn reveals his Dark Avengers to the world, and although the main characters in this film are not full-blown villains, we would be shocked if Thunderbolts* does not end in a similar way.

There were already rumors that Ironheart wanted to reveal that Mephisto now owns the building, due to a seemingly unexpected interest in technology. Val could be in cahoots with him, but we'd be inclined to believe that claim is false.

Do you think that the Thunderbolts* Did the trailer finally reveal the new owner of Avengers Tower?
