Thunder take down the Blazers, 137-114

After a wild two and a half quarters, the Oklahoma City Thunder took the lead in the third quarter and ultimately defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 137-114. While OKC moves to 5-0 with the win, let's look at the details.

Blazer of the night: Toumani Camara. His early defense and three-point shooting helped bring Portland back into the game. He finished the game with 13 points on 3-5 three-point shooting, with 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and plenty of defensive movement.

Crucial numbers: Nine Thunder players hit threes, none named “Chet.” Both teams made over 40% of their three-point shots, but it was OKC that distributed the shot to great effect.

Defining moment: Technical foul by Jalen Williams in the third quarter. At the time of this T, OKC had committed 17 fouls (including four on Chet Holmgren that forced him to the bench). An aggressive Portland team was held to a narrow 6 points. After the Thunder “made their case” to the referees, they were assessed two fouls for the remainder of the quarter while also stepping up their chasing defense and outscoring Portland by 17 points.

Rough Landing: Anfernee Simons. Simons landed on his non-shooting arm late in the game and didn't get back up quickly. He was taken to the bench for medical treatment but did not go to the locker room. The Blazers will likely provide an update later.
