The Savannah Bananas world tour is coming to Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – West Michigan baseball fans will soon find out why the world is crazy about Banana Ball.

The West Michigan Whitecaps announced Friday, Oct. 4, that the Banana Ball World Tour will make a stop at LMCU Ballpark next summer.

Savannah Bananas' Party Animals will be on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 12-14. June 2025, playing against the Firefighters in three wild Banana Ball nights. The ballpark is located at 4500 W. River Dr. NE in Comstock Park, a suburb of Grand Rapids.

“Banana Ball has taken the baseball world by storm and we couldn’t be more excited to bring their unique brand of baseball to the state of Michigan for the first time,” West Michigan Whitecaps President Steve McCarthy said in a statement. “We expect a tremendous response and I know this group is ready to give fans an incredible experience.

Banana Ball began a little over five years ago as a concept for a fast-paced, action-packed take on traditional baseball that captivates fans throughout. The game consists of 11 unique rules such as: B. a two-hour time limit for games, no walks and foul balls caught by fans count as outs.

The most recently adopted “Golden Batter” rule gives each team the opportunity to use any batter anywhere in the lineup.

The Banana Ball World Tour initially began with just one team, the Savannah Bananas, and has since expanded to include several partner teams.

Due to the popularity of the sport, tickets are expected to sell out quickly. Interested parties should register on the lottery list on banaball.com before the closing date for participation on November 1st.

Participation in the lottery does not guarantee the opportunity to purchase tickets. Approximately two months before the event, the names will be drawn at random so that you can then buy tickets online.

Once the lottery closes, fans will be placed on the waitlist for tickets and notified when tickets become available.

All lawn seats, reserved seats, box seats and premium box seats are sold as general admission tickets by Banana Ball. Suites, 4-Topps and Hospitality Rooms are sold through the Whitecaps and are available through the annual group lottery held on November 21st.

“We expect these games to sell out within hours of tickets going on sale,” Dan Morrison, vice president of sales and marketing for the West Michigan Whitecaps, said in a news release. “In other markets, waiting lists regularly exceed 100,000 people and tickets sold out in less than 24 hours.

“Knowing the fan base we have in West Michigan, I have no doubt we will see the same thing.”
