Derek Carr hasn't had much luck in his career against the Kansas City Chiefs. You can also add injury luck to this list.

The New Orleans Saints quarterback was hobbled after a hit by Chiefs DB Chamarri Conner in the fourth quarter of the Monday Night Football match between the two teams in Week 5.

Carr and the Saints trailed 23-13 at the time of the goal. It appeared as if he grabbed his back after being hit and walked to the medical tent.

Here's the latest on the Saints QB:

Carr left the Monday Night Football match in the fourth quarter after taking a hard hit from Conner.

After the game, Saints head coach Dennis Allen said Carr's injury was a “left side injury.” He had no further details about Carr's injury, only that coaches had told him the quarterback had injured his team.

“Tomorrow we’re doing an MRI and all that stuff so we can figure it out,” Carr said after the game.

Carr would enter the blue medical tent after the hit and soon make his way to the locker room. According to the ESPN broadcast, he was listed as “questionable” with an oblique injury.

The quarterback would not be back on the field on the Saints' next offensive possession and would not finish the game.

Saints QB depth chart

If you're looking for experience on the Saints' bench behind Derek Carr, you're not going to get it. Jake Haener is listed as QB2, while Spencer Rattler is the third emergency QB behind Carr and Haener.

The Saints selected Haener in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Coincidentally, Haener attended Fresno State, the same school as Carr.
