The governors continue to play ASUN at UNA and UCA

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Austin Peay State University volleyball team hits the road to play North Alabama and Central Arkansas on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

The Governors are coming off a 3-0 loss to Lipscomb on Nov. 5 at Allen Arena. Anna Rita had seven kills and three blocks and Maggie Duyos had ten assists.

North Alabama is coming off a 3-1 loss to North Florida on Nov. 3, despite Jasmine Brooks' 21 kills. Central Arkansas last defeated Jacksonville 3-1 in Conway.

The Governors are 1-3 all-time against North Alabama and 2-3 all-time against Central Arkansas.

The Governors close out the regular season with a game against Queens in Charlotte on Nov. 16 at 1 p.m.

BY ROTATION

  • Anna Rita leads the governors with 90.0 blocks. Her 158 kills rank third.
  • Sarah Carnathans 218 kills is the Governors' pace, and their 45.0 blocks rank fourth.
  • Kayleigh Ryan is first on the team with 379 assists and 30 aces. Their 133 excavations are third.
  • Taylor Baron leads with 435 digs. Her 111 assists are third.
  • Maggie Duyos is second with 167 digs and 353 assists.
  • Outside attacker Sarah Carnathan returns after posting 125 kills last season, averaging 1.79 per set. The junior has recorded 186 kills in her first two seasons with the Govs, averaging 1.51 per set.
  • Setter Maggie Duyos played 18 games for the Govs in her first season and ranked second on the team with 199 assists, an average of 3.55 per set. She also scored 77 awards this season, highlighted by a nine-award performance at North Florida on November 11th.
  • Junior middle blocker Payton Deidesheimer played in 20 games last season and started seven times. She totaled 109 kills and reached her career high of 17 on Oct. 14 at Stetson.
  • Middle blocker Anna Rita also had a successful freshman year, appearing in 24 games and making 18 starts. She had 73 blocks this season, ranking third on the team. She set her career high with nine blocks on November 10 against Central Arkansas. On October 27 at Eastern Kentucky, she hit .667 with four kills on six shots, the highest of her career.
  • Junior defensive specialist Emma Loiars returns after completing 49 sets for the Govs last season. She totaled 92 digs, averaging 1.88 per game, with a career-high 14 digs twice against Lindenwood and Indiana State on Sept. 1.
