The Eagles could sign the former star to team up with AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith

The Eagles could sign the former star to team up with AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith

The Philadelphia Eagles will be the talk of the town in the next few days.

The National Football League trade deadline is just days away, and that means rumors and speculation will be rampant. Will the Eagles look to add something in the next few days? Perhaps. But any agreement within the deadline would cost some kind of compensation.

There are other ways for the Eagles to add without giving up draft picks. There are a few players in free agency that could be worth a look for the Eagles. Former New Orleans Saints star Michael Thomas is somehow still out there and should really be considered.

Thomas was once the best receiver in football, but that doesn't necessarily factor into this discussion. Injuries kept him off balance, but he was able to appear in 10 games last season. He had 39 receptions and 448 yards during that stretch.

This is what the Eagles need. Philadelphia picked Jahan Dotson as the team's No. 3 receiver behind AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith and entered the Week 9 showdown with six receptions and 35 yards.

If the Eagles want to make a deep run this year, it might make sense to equip the offense with as many weapons as possible. Thomas appears to be healthy and showed last season that he still has something left in the tank.

The Eagles could easily sign him and he wouldn't cost anything in terms of draft picks. It seems like a given.
