Colorado State University police are advising people on the northwest edge of campus to stay indoors due to police operations Wednesday morning.

Police operations are underway in the area of ​​Durward Hall, Laurel Village and Corbett Hall, along Laurel Street between Shields Street and Meridian Avenue, CSU police said in a social media post around 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.

People are asked to avoid the area or stay indoors until police operations have ended, CSU police said in the social media post.

According to CSU Police, residents of Laurel Village and Corbett and Durward Halls are asked to remain in their rooms and await further information.

Despite police warnings, many students were walking or cycling through the dormitory group around 11 a.m. Two police cars were parked in front of Piñon Hall, but there was no visible police activity to deter students from the area.
