BALTIMORE – Monet Thompson, 49, of Annapolis was arrested and charged with the murder of 59-year-old Allison Faye McIntyre on Thursday in Annapolis.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of a Safeway in the 1700 block of Forest Drive.

Investigators said they obtained video footage of the incident taken from a city of Annapolis transit bus parked next to McIntyre's vehicle.

According to charging documents, an African-American woman, later identified as Thompson, exited a vehicle, walked to McIntyre's gray Honda and opened the passenger door. After Thompson got into the McIntyre vehicle, it drove toward the parking lot entrance before suddenly braking and coming to a stop.

Thompson was then seen exiting the vehicle and placing an item in her right leg pocket before fleeing the scene in her blue Toyota Camry.

Police said witnesses' statements matched video footage from the bus.

According to charging documents, investigators already knew Thompson from an ongoing investigation into a Sept. 26 murder.

Police said they did not believe the shooting was random and that Thompson was an acquaintance of McIntyre.

“We are confident we have found the right person,” Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson said in a statement. “We will continue to work with the district attorney to prosecute the case to the fullest extent of the law.”

McIntyre faces numerous charges, including murder and first- and second-degree assault.
