'Shrinking' Is Finally Back For Season 2 (And Harrison Ford Is A Surprising Scene-Stealer)

The first two episodes of shrinkage The second season is now streaming on Apple TV+. With new episodes dropping every Wednesday, there's no better time to re-watch the Jason Segel-led series.

The first season of shrinkage follows Jimmy (Jason Segel) and his attempt to overcome the initial stages of grief after his wife Tia (Lilan Bowden) tragically passes away. This includes reconnecting with his daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell), who is also trying to move on.

The second season continues to explore the grieving process, especially now that Jimmy is ready to move on after accepting his loss. Although he starts dating again, he finds it difficult to forget his late wife because she is everywhere.

She is reflected in Alice, who is concerned about Jimmy's continued well-being. She is honored by her family, who are trying to move on while respecting her legacy. And she is remembered by her best friend Gaby (Jessica Williams), who is now dating Jimmy. (#Unpleasant)

It's clear that Jimmy is determined to go back to “basics” to get the fresh start he needs. My only concern is that his storyline becomes redundant as he follows the same steps as in the first season.

Luckily, there's always Paul (Harrison Ford), who never fails to make me smile even in the most serious moments. Paul is finally ready for a serious relationship with Julie (Wendie Malick) and even drops the ā€œLā€ bombshell. But how long will it take?

Oh, and the tension between Gaby and Liz (Christa Miller) is bound to reach its peak. There's only so much Liz can do to keep Gaby away from Jimmy without facing the consequences. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I expect a public confrontation that makes Liz's surprise visit to Gaby's classroom seem insignificant.

I must note that it is important to refresh the memory of the events of the first season, as the new episodes dive straight into the drama without revisiting the previous part. Yes, everyone looks familiar, but it's hard to remember the exact details when it's been more than a year since the season 1 finale aired.

For example, if you had asked me at the beginning of the new season how Grace tried to kill her husband, I would probably answer, “Who is Grace?” But after a quick refresher, I soon remembered that Grace was Jimmy's patient with a abusive husband is. You know, the one who pushed her husband off a cliff in the season one finale.

shrinkage The second season has a lot to offer. But based on what I've seen, I have high hopes for what's to come, especially for scene-stealer Harrison Ford.
