NFL fans were dismayed and upset with Fox Sports for offensive comments in a postgame interview with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, which were shown in closed captioning.

Allen was speaking with Fox's Erin Andrews after leading his team to a 31-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks when asked about his star rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman.

Buffalo's wide receiver staff appeared depleted early in the season, but the former Florida State star's contributions have helped the Bills become one of the AFC's best teams.

“That damn guy!” Allen said, or as Fox dubbed it, “African.”

The comment has drawn ire from some in the NFL community because of its racist connotations.

During his postgame interview, the subtitling made a “terrible” mistake with Allen’s words

“Oh God, it was absolutely horrible.” “I even took a photo to make sure I didn't see anything,” one NFL fan said on social media.

“That’s fox for you,” another person said.

Another NFL fan posted a GIF of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, who appears on several Fox cooking shows, with his head in his hands.

Others tried to make jokes about Coleman's race or made “Crying Alexander” jokes in reference to the series South Park.

Coleman finished the game with 70 yards and a touchdown, while Allen threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns.

Fox Sports has not commented on the captioning error, while Coleman and Allen have also said nothing about the interaction.

Allen has always spoken admiringly of his wide receivers over the years, with Coleman being no exception, regardless of what the subtitles say.

A Louisiana native, Coleman played college football at Michigan State before transferring to Florida State.
