Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco Think Drake Trash Talking DeMar DeRozan Points to 'War Part Two' in Kendrick Beef

Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco Think Drake Trash Talking DeMar DeRozan Points to 'War Part Two' in Kendrick Beef

In a recent episode of NightcapShannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson discussed Drake's recent trash talk against Sacramento Kings player DeMar DeRozan, who made a cameo appearance in Kendrick Lamar's “Not Like Us” video earlier this year.

As Sharpe recapitulated the situation, Ocho asked why the two were arguing. “I think he was in Kendrick Lamar’s video,” Sharpe replied. “And DeRozan used to play for the (Toronto) Raptors,” Ocho added. “So Drake probably thought they were kind of cool or something, right?” Sharpe added, “They were.”

Ocho said he understands why Drake feels this way about DeMar DeRozan because the NBA star has to “pick a side” in the conflict between Drizzy and K Dot. Sharpe pointed out that Drake also unfollowed LeBron James on social media, presumably because he showed up to Kendrick's “Pop Out” concert in Los Angeles.

“Now do you know what that means? It’s not over yet,” Ocho continued. “It could be the second part of the war. So all of you who have insulted me and sided with my enemy, I'm coming to see you.” Sharpe pointed out that Drake and DeRozan have been friends for a long time and grew up in the same town, which is why he would feel more connected to K Dot than to the 6th God.

“I think Drake looks at it like, 'Damn, everyone who made it went against me,'” Sharpe said. “I kind of had a feeling that after DeRozan got on stage with K Dot, Drake would probably feel some way.”

“But I like it, it’s good for basketball, it’s good for the culture,” Ocho said. “Now I'm excited. …Who else on the hit list? …You guys are going to war, just keep it pen, keep it trash talk. Nothing else. Make it entertaining, make it fun. I'm all for it, guys.

Sharpe and Ocho said they are not taking sides in the dispute, but as long as everyone involved keeps their words and stays away from violence, they are fine with it for entertainment purposes.

Last week, DeRozan and the Kings returned to Toronto to play his former team, which retired Vince Carter's jersey. Drake joked, “If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I'll go over there and tear it down myself.” In a postgame press conference, DeRozan responded, “He's going to have a long way to go to overcome it.” During the During the game, Drake also hurled several insults at the former Raptors player, including calling him a “dumbass” and a “pussy.”

DeRozan previously hinted that he was still cool with Drake despite his appearance in the “Not Like Us” video. “Drake is still my man, still my man, none of that has changed,” DeRozan told the Sacramento Bee. “It's so easy to be overlooked and just look at it for what it looks like, but at the end of the day it's music, it's entertainment. Two of the biggest rappers in the world cared and fought for competitive reasons.”
