After watching recently Lord of the rings For the first time, American musician Remi Wolf is even more excited to return to New Zealand this summer.

The alt-pop star promises to deliver “lots of energy, lots of fun and lots of dancing” in her headlining show at Laneway Festival 2025.

In conversation with Music 101 Speaking in a backstage bathroom in Atlanta, she described her music as “catchy pop songwriting from an alternative perspective.”

The California-born artist said she felt like she really hit her stride this year and played “the most fun shows” of her life.

“This is the first tour where I've really designed the show, put so much time and care into it. I travel with my band, my crew, everyone feels super supported and included.”

On thousands of people buying tickets to her shows, Wolf said it was “very beautiful and humbling and just really, really, really sick.”

“I just allow myself to take a few breaths and know the show is good and have a little fun.”

Three sold-out nights at the King's Theater in New York recently were a real pinch-me moment.

“To be able to sell over 10,000 tickets in New York… that’s a lot of people. I’m always in awe of the people who come out and are so passionate about my music.”

“I can get excited about my music because they are passionate about it. It’s just like this wonderful feedback loop that sometimes I just can’t believe is actually happening.”
