Night 2 of the battles begins The voice brought more eliminations, a last minute “steal” and lots of tears.

Tuesday's episode was shorter than usual – 90 minutes instead of the usual two hours, as coach Reba McEntire's new NBC comedy was re-airing. Happy's Place, which served as an introduction The voice. This meant that less time was devoted to the six competing duos on stage, and only four battles (one from each team) were the focus of the episode. Two head-to-head showdowns (one by Team Snoop, the other by Team Michael) were demoted to climax status, making the eliminations of Torion Sellers and Suede Lacy seem like afterthoughts.

Still, each of the competing singers improved dramatically from their respective blind auditions – an observation made repeatedly throughout the episode – which made the coaches' decision about who to eliminate even more difficult. Outstanding fight of the episode

The battle between Team Gwen's Frankie Torres and Gabrielle Zabosky, who both took four chairs in the blind auditions, was easily the best of the night. Torres and Zabosky covered a more soulful version of INXS' rock classic “Never Tear Us Apart,” wowing coaches and audience alike with their powerful harmonies and lively stage presence. Gwen Stefani's unconventional song choices paid off as they showcased her vocal abilities without being hindered by trying to keep up with the original.

Torres, who leaned more towards rock, and Zabosky, who leaned towards pop, were so stunning with their battle performance that the coaches were speechless. They expressed how happy they were not Being in Stefani's shoes and having to let one of them go. Michael Bublé praised the unique song arrangement, saying that it allowed each singer to “show off the strength” of their voice and vocal range. McEntire praised Torres' tone and Zabosky's “high parts,” while Snoop Dogg appreciated that the two didn't try to “outdo” each other. Bublé and McEntire would have chosen Zabosky if they had the choice.

But the decision was Stefani's. After describing her duet as “spectacular,” she visibly struggled to pick a winner. After thinking for a few moments, Stefani decided on the person she wanted to move forward with: Zabosky. Her argument was simple. “She's done it and she's super talented,” Stefani said, adding that the further she gets in the competition, the more confidence she'll gain – and that can only help her in the future. Which leads us to…

A last minute bargain

The voice He certainly loves keeping everyone on their toes. While saying goodbye to the coaches, Torres was stolen by McEntire, the last possible Second, she used her “stealing.” Stefani must have felt a sense of relief because moments later she hugged McEntire and thanked her for keeping Torres in the competition.

However, McEntire had her own revelation.

“I did a little play there because I told Gabrielle to go with Gabrielle so I can have Frankie,” the country singer said, referring to the coaches' feedback session after their battle ended. After hearing McEntire reveal her strategy, Bublé couldn't contain his laughter. (There Is a reason why McEntire is the regent Agree Champion after all.)

McEntire was determined to have Torres on her team, no matter the cost. “Loved her tone, her stage presence. “I just loved her voice and that’s why I had to do my best for Frankie,” she said. Welcome to Team Reba!

Tears, tears and more tears

We couldn't end this episode recap without mentioning the battle between Team Snoop's ChrisDeo and the MisterMoon duo. When performing Amy Winehouse's version of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” the artists were paired up so they could show off their harmonies – and Snoop's vision paid off immediately Agree Stage. Their three-part harmonization was near perfect, with the rapper admitting he “got goosebumps” during their performance.

It was the positive feedback from McEntire and Stefani that brought ChrisDeo to tears. “Super, super impressed with you tonight,” Stefani said. In the end, Snoop chose ChrisDeo as the winner. He saw enough “untapped” talent in the 17-year-old singer, who was celebrating her birthday while rehearsing for the Battles round, that he was confident she could go far. “Once she gets that confidence and that support,” he said, “she’ll be everything she can be.”

A look ahead to next week

The battles continue! Snoop is now the only trainer who hasn't managed to successfully use one of his thefts to nab a singer. This will be something to keep an eye on as the battles intensify and spots on each team start to fill up. McEntire, Stefani and Bublé all still have a steal, while the rapper has both in his back pocket – something he could use to his advantage later.
