Raiders News: The Raiders lead the NFL in explosive plays

Raiders News: The Raiders lead the NFL in explosive plays

The Las Vegas Raiders offense isn't league-leading in many categories. They're the only team that doesn't have 100 yards rushing as a team. However, they find ways to move the ball through the air with explosive plays.

Fans saw it last weekend in the upset win over the Baltimore Ravens. Gardner Minshew was able to drive the ball far and create big plays for the offense, leading to a 10-point comeback win on the road when the offense was stagnant for most of the game.

There's a lot of talk in NFL circles right now about the lack of explosive plays on offense. The Raiders aren't one of the teams that lead the league with nine explosive plays. Vic Tafur of The Athletic has the best information on the offense.

“The Raiders' offense has scored just 16 points through the first game and a half of the season, and their running game is the worst in the NFL. Yet they lead the league in explosive passing plays (20 or more yards) with nine, according to the NFL.”

If the Raiders continue to find explosive aerial plays, they can build a great offense. Explosive plays are crucial in today's NFL and that's evident when one team scored 13 points in one quarter.

Hopefully it will continue like this against the Carolina Panthers.
