QB Tyler Huntley starts for Dolphins vs. Titans, with Tim Boyle as backup

The Miami Dolphins will have Tyler “Snoop” Huntley at quarterback when they take on the Tennessee Titans on Monday night.

With Replacement for Skylar Thompson Huntley and Tim Boyle, who suffered a rib injury last Sunday in Seattle, were Miami's options for Week 4. Tua Tagovailoa remains out with a concussion.

Coach Mike McDaniel said the decision to go with Huntley was due to the quarterback's experience and his teammates' positive reaction to him since his arrival in Miami. The Dolphins signed him off the Ravens' practice squad on September 17th.

“Snoop has started several and many big plays,” McDaniel said Saturday. “As a quarterback, you just have to understand exactly what it takes to win over teammates so that they can take someone else's place and be able to impose their own personality, their own skills, their own characteristics on offense and people to lead.”

Huntley was named to the Pro Bowl in 2022 after leading Baltimore to the playoffs in place of the injured Lamar Jackson. He has a career completion rate of 64.6% and gives the Dolphins depth as a runner.

It will be a homecoming for Huntley, who grew up in South Florida but studied in Utah before spending the first four seasons of his career primarily in Baltimore.

“This is just a child’s dream,” Huntley said this week. “Being able to play for your home team, man, that’s just not for everyone.”

Boyle will be Huntley's replacement on Monday.
