There will be a few showers during the morning to midday hours, particularly from Pittsburgh and north toward Highway 422 and I-80. A dry spell is spreading across our southern and southeastern zones, which is expected to bring warmer temperatures and even some sunshine in the late morning and afternoon hours.

Today's highs will range from the mid-70s in northwestern Pennsylvania to near 80 degrees in Pittsburgh, pointing south into northern West Virginia and northwestern Maryland.

The remnants of Major Hurricane Helene, which caused devastating flooding in parts of the Carolinas and Tennessee, have merged with a high low over the Lower Ohio River Valley.

Ultimately, these remains will be carried back through our area from Sunday to next Monday. This will result in increased cloudiness and showers from Saturday evening and is expected to continue until Tuesday morning.

Quite a bit of dry air has crept into the system, so while we can expect numerous to widespread showers on Sundays and Mondays, we don't have to expect flooding. Rainfall totals will reach about 0.5 inches, with locally higher amounts in northern West Virginia.
