Owls travel south to Macon for Mercer Gridiron Classic

KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's tennis team continues its fall program this weekend at the ITA Mercer Gridiron Classic tournament. Games begin on Friday October 4th and end on Sunday October 6th.



Ema Baraniakova, Terezia BaraniakovaAnd Laura Nadaska, Sofia Madrid, Izabelle Persson And Sophia Unger are scheduled for their second fall tournament.



Features of the fall season
Fall tennis consists of individual tournaments, while team games only take place in spring. The Owls will compete in several individual tournaments this fall, including the Mercer Gridiron Classic, ITA Southeast Regional, Wofford Invite and Stetson Invite.

Tournament format
The ITA Mercer Gridiron Classic tournament format includes multiple singles matches (3 full sets, main draw) and doubles competitions (6 game sets; tiebreak at 6-1) against opposing teams. At the end of each round, the winners continue their tournament in the same direction, while the losers move to other points on the compass to form a new satellite tournament.



Game plan
Friday – One round of doubles followed by two rounds of singles
Saturday: Two rounds of doubles followed by one round of singles
Sunday – A round of doubles followed by a round of singles

The Owls are back in action October 10-13. 14th at the ITA Southeast Regional Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia.
