Olivia Munn shows off mastectomy scars in her Skims campaign

The latest Skims campaign is here, this time featuring actress Olivia Munn for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

On Wednesday, Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand unveiled its latest campaign featuring Munn and her mastectomy scars for October. According to Munn, the idea to display the scars came about during the photo shoot. “We were in the middle of the shoot and we were changing an outfit so we could see more of my scars, and so the makeup artist touched up my scars, and then we got to the double mastectomy scars, and those were really hard to do. “cover up,” she previously revealed on the Today show. “And then I looked in the mirror and just thought: I'm tired of being insecure about my scars.”

Munn was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2023 and has since undergone five surgeries, including a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy. She serves as a brand ambassador for Skims, which has released campaigns featuring Usher, WNBA stars, Lana Del Rey and Sabrina Carpenter, to name a few. Munn's campaign features the latest shapewear and her posing in the controversial nipple bra that was released last year. However, she hopes the inclusion of the scars will inspire others who have had similar experiences.

“I really hope that other women see them on billboards, online and in magazines and feel really beautiful knowing that they have the same scars as me and that I embrace them,” Munn continued Today show. As someone who has similar scars from another surgery I had a few years ago, I have to admit that it was moving to see these pictures on my Instagram feed. For the remainder of the month, Skims will also donate a small percentage of retail sales to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer organization.
