NY McDonald's is a leader in broken ice cream machines. Find out where

If you're craving a McDonald's Flurry or soft serve, New York probably isn't the place for you.

According to mcbroken.com, a website that tracks the status of the fast food giant's soft serve equipment, the Empire State currently has the most broken McDonald's ice cream machines – 32%.

The site also provides a map and shows whether the ice machines are working, broken or not. Fast food rival Wendy's is running an ad at the top of its website promoting its $1 Frosty Fix product. If you're craving ice cream and McDonald's isn't available, you'll find a convenient Wendy's option on the menu.

This isn't the first time a rival restaurant has taken over the website, created by software engineer Rashiq Zahid in 2020, as California-based Jack in the Box used it to promote a new product in 2022.

What machines are currently broken in Rochester NY?

According to the website, the only broken machine in Rochester is at 420 Monroe Ave., the status for the machines at McDonald's locations at 657 E. Ridge Rd. and 275 Upper Falls Blvd. are indeterminate.
