NLDS Game Thread: Dodgers vs. Padres – Game 5

NLDS Game Thread: Dodgers vs. Padres – Game 5

The Yankees are currently sitting safely at home in the Bronx waiting to hear from their ALCS opponent. That will be decided tomorrow afternoon as the Tigers vs. Guardians start time will be pushed back due to upcoming inclement weather in Cleveland. Tonight we turn our attention to the Senior Circuit to see who the Mets will face in their NLCS.

This was the best division series of the four, with good baseball, difficult opponents and surprising results. As in 2022, the Wild Card-winning Padres took a 2-1 series and had a chance to knock off the mighty Dodgers in San Diego, but rather than wither, LA instead struck out Dylan Cease on short rest and won 8:1. 0. So here we are in Game 5 at Dodger Stadium, with Yu Darvish preparing to face Yoshinobu Yamamoto and an NLCS berth on the line. Be excited.

Below is the viewing information for this showdown.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres
(Series drawn, 2:2)

(RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs. RHP Yu Darvish)
Time: 8:08 p.m. ET
TV: Fox
Venue: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California

To be clear, I'm not going to break down the points of the debate over who would be the Yankees' toughest potential World Series opponent, because this is: 1) Primarily a post that gives us all a chance to talk about Game 5 of the Dodgers/ Padres to speak; 2) Presenting partial results from our recent SB Nation Reacts survey; and 3) allowing me to escape without having to deal with angry Mets fans on a Friday night.

So here are the results! Try it and enjoy the game. (AL results come tomorrow.)

Note: Yes, we know that the percentages do not add up to 100. That's because Phillies were eliminated while this poll was running, so they were simply omitted.
