The Brooklyn Nets (1-2) earned an impressive 115-102 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday, ensuring Brooklyn would remain undefeated on their home court for the time being. As the Nets look ahead to their next home game against the Denver Nuggets, they will be missing another player from their frontcourt rotation.

The Nets announced Monday that Ben Simmons will not play against the Nuggets due to a lower back injury. This appears to be more of a precautionary measure than anything else, considering Simmons has been available since the start of training camp and has played an average of 24.0 minutes per game in Brooklyn's first three games.

In addition to Simmons, forward Bojan Bogdanovic (recovering from a left foot injury), forward Trendon Watford (left hamstring strain) and Day'Ron Sharpe (left hamstring strain) will also miss Tuesday's game against Denver. Given the amount of players the Nets will be missing due to another tough opponent, some of the G League players such as Jacky Cui, Jaylen Martin, Tyrese Martin and Dariq Whitehead are considered questionable just in case Brooklyn moves ahead of kickoff needs more players.

Simmons is averaging 5.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game while shooting 50.0% from the field and 75.0% from the free throw line as the second point guard in the starting lineup alongside Dennis Schroder. With Simmons out, Nic Claxton should move into the starting position and players like Cam Thomas, Shake Milton and Keon Johnson could take on more ball-handling duties.
