Morgan Wallen announces his own festival coming to Alabama in 2025

After headlining Stagecoach in May 2024, country superstar Morgan Wallen will spend a weekend in May 2025 headlining his own newly formed music festival called Sand in My Boots, named after one of his most popular singles. Wallen's Festival will take place May 16-18 on the coast of Gulf Shores, Alabama, it was announced Thursday.

Plans for the event were announced jointly by Wallen, AEG Presents and Hangout Festival. The latter festival's seaside venue will serve as the venue for Sand in My Boots.

Stacy Vee, a name California country fans know as producer of Stagecoach and EVP of Goldenvoice, shared her excitement for the new festival, which is partly her idea. “Hosting a festival with Morgan was a dream come true… and one of the most fun I’ve ever had booking a show,” Vee said in a statement. “I can’t wait for fans to experience one of the most diverse and electrifying line-ups and on-site experiences the world has ever seen.”

The line-up and ticketing details will be announced soon, organizers promised.

The announcement set the stage for what is being touted as a “highly curated, multi-genre lineup featuring some of Wallen's closest friends, favorite artists and those who have inspired him and with whom he has always wanted to perform.” Every artist, everyone Activity and each experience is handpicked by Wallen.”

Reeves Price, producer of AEG Presents and Hangout Festival, said: “The opportunity to bring Morgan’s world to life on the beach at Gulf Shores is very special. The fact that it coincides with the 15th anniversary of Hangout Festival only makes it even more special. We can’t wait to see everyone back on the beach in May.”

No plans for a Hangout festival next year have been announced, and it has not been publicly announced whether Sand in My Boots will complement or replace Hangout on the 2025 calendar. The last hangout festival took place last May 17th at the beach area. 19 and included a country headliner, Zach Bryan, but mostly acts associated with other genres, such as Lana Del Rey, the Chainsmokers and Cage the Elephant.

Wallen is still one of the most popular artists in the music scene today. His latest album “One Thing at a Time” has been in the top 10 since its release in early 2023; It spent 19 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Wallen also topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for six consecutive weeks this summer as an artist featured on Post Malone's hit “I Had Some Help.”
