MLB goes all-in on the LA Knights after the Dodgers win the NL pennant

MLB goes all-in on the LA Knights after the Dodgers win the NL pennant

The Los Angeles Dodgers are headed to the World Series after securing the National League Championship with a 10-5 victory over the New York Mets in Game 6 on Sunday. As the Dodgers celebrated their win, Major League Baseball's Instagram account captured the exciting images from their victory celebration. But there was something else that got fans talking – especially wrestling fans.

Whoever runs MLB's Instagram is clearly a WWE fan. Alongside the triumphant images of the Dodgers, the caption read: “Whose pennant is this? Everyone says LA @Dodgers! YES! #CLOSED.”

Next, the Dodgers look to advance from league champions to world champions by facing the American League champions, the New York Yankees. This year's World Series not only pits two storied franchises against each other, but also brings together America's two largest media markets, New York and LA, on baseball's biggest stage. And that could be a ratings nightmare for WWE and AEW.

Game times have yet to be determined, but are likely heading towards prime time with the best-of-seven series starting this Friday and games taking place on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. This schedule threatens to distract viewers from WWE Smack down, Rawand NXT, as well as AEW's collision.

If the decisive Game 4 takes place on Tuesday, NXT could see a massive drop in viewership, adding to the recent third week decline on the CW Network. A necessary Game 5 next Wednesday could complicate things even further for AEW dynamitewhich has been struggling with ratings since April. If the World Series – which airs on Fox – stretches to six or seven games the following Friday and Saturday, both WWE and AEW face even greater losses as a new champion may be crowned on both nights.

Now tell us, Cagesiders, how do you think WWE and AEW will perform during the World Series? And who is your pick to win it all, the Yankees or the Dodgers? Share your predictions in the comments.
