Mercedes Moné has mixed feelings about the shortening of WWE RAW to 2 hours

Mercedes Moné has mixed feelings about the shortening of WWE RAW to 2 hours

Former WWE Superstar and current AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné shared her thoughts on the Netflix move and sees a silver lining.

The year 2025 will be a big year for the world of professional wrestling. For the first time, WWE's flagship Monday Night Show, Raw, will move to streaming service giant Netflix. The move will take place in January 2025.

In the latest edition of the Moné Mag newsletter, Moné talked about the partnership between Netflix and WWE. Moné also mentioned that she has mixed feelings about Raw being shortened from three to two hours.

It's worth noting that the format change will begin on October 7, but only a two-hour broadcast is planned through December 30, 2024. Once RAW premieres on Netflix, it is expected to return to being a three-hour broadcast. The cut to two hours is due to WWE and NBCUniversal reaching an agreement to keep RAW on USA Network through 2024, as the previous contract expires in September.

Mercedes Moné at 2 Hours RAW, Netflix

“Let's talk about RAW. Word is that the runtime will be reduced from 3 hours to 2, and honestly, I have mixed feelings about it. I've always loved that extra hour because it gives more artists a chance to shine. Losing that time could mean fewer opportunities for the roster. It's hard enough for talent, especially women, to get airtime on TV. The silver lining could be Netflix. I expect (and hope) that with Netflix, there will be many new opportunities to showcase talent. Ultimately, I'm all about more opportunities for talent, which leads to more entertainment for the fans and more money for the company. It's the best way for everyone to win – especially the roster and the fans,” wrote Mercedes Moné.

Are you looking forward to switching to Netflix?
