Former first lady Melania Trump denied claims that her husband praised Adolf Hitler on Fox & Friends on Tuesday.

She defended Donald Trump after his former White House chief of staff John Kelly's interviews with The Atlantic and The New York Times made headlines. He said the former president praised the dictator of Nazi Germany, whose policies led to the murder of 6 million Jews.

As the former first lady took the stage with her husband at a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday, the Democratic National Committee projected the words “Trump praised Hitler” onto the arena.

“It’s terrible,” she said Tuesday. “He’s not Hitler.”

During a CNN town hall on Wednesday, Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris called the former president a “fascist.” Kelly also said in his interviews that the GOP nominee “falls within the general definition.”

“Couldn’t be further from the truth,” the former president told Fox News on Thursday. “It’s actually the exact opposite.”

Fascism is a political ideology and movement that uses racism and a cult of personality that guarantees absolute power to its leader and encourages violence against political enemies.

Despite the heated rhetoric, the former first lady said the Trump family is “feeling good” a week before Election Day on Nov. 5. She added that, aside from two assassinations, this campaign cycle feels similar to 2016 – the last time her husband won the White House.
