McDonald's Halloween Boo Buckets return for 2024: Here's how to get one

You know Halloween is near when McDonald's brings back its Boo Buckets for the holiday. The customizable plastic buckets replace the Happy Meal box for a few weeks each fall.

Halloween has officially arrived at McDonald's: Boo Buckets are coming back.

A customer favorite, Monster Boo Buckets come with Happy Meals and can be used for trick-or-treating. The fast food giant will offer Boo Buckets for a limited time starting October 15th. This year the buckets come in a new color: blue, which replaces last year's purple color.

Each bucket also comes with stickers so kids can customize the look. This is the third consecutive season for the seasonal offer. As a nostalgic nod, McDonald's brought back Boo Buckets in 2022 for the first time since 2016. McDonald's first sold the decorated plastic buckets in 1986 and has only brought them back sporadically since then.

How to get a McDonald's Boo Bucket

McDonald's is offering Monster Boo Buckets starting Tuesday, October 15th. They will replace the classic Happy Meal box while stocks last.

Boo Bucket prices are set by each individual restaurant and may vary by location, according to McDonald's. Customers can order any of their favorite McDonald's Happy Meal options: You can order them by placing a Happy Meal order either in the restaurant or through the app. Happy Meals come with three different entrée options: Hamburger (you can add cheese) and 4-piece or 6-piece Chicken McNuggets meals; each with a side of fries or apple slices and a drink.

What colors will McDonald's Boo Buckets come in this year?

McDonald's is changing its color scheme for this year's Boo Buckets. As in 2023, there will be white, orange and green buckets. But this year blue buckets will replace last year's purple buckets.

Last year's Boo Buckets also resembled classic monsters like Monster, Skeleton, Mummy, and Vampire. This year's models are more amorphous and give children the opportunity to customize them however they like using the included stickers.
