Marvel could release up to seven new Disney Plus shows in 2025 as Daredevil: Born Again reportedly tops the top tier of MCU TV series

2025 could be a record year for Marvel's TV division, with the comic book giant reportedly set to publish through 2025 Seven new shows on Disney Plus.

Despite previous claims that less content would be released each year, Marvel Studios is apparently preparing to release a new series approximately every seven weeks starting in January next year (if my math is correct).

According to the filenames of some new logo images uploaded to Disney's press image library yesterday (October 28) – as spotted by X/Twitter account Comicodigy and users on Reddit – it actually looks like 2025 is going to be a very busy year for Disney will be the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) on the small screen.

Until recently, we knew that three new Marvel series would be premiering on Disney's flagship streaming service. The first of these, Daredevil: Rebornis scheduled to be released on March 4, 2025. Daredevil's standalone MCU series will be joined by two more projects later in 2025 Ironheart And What if…? The third season has also been confirmed to start at an unknown date.

Now it looks like four more series will be added to the trio, three of which will be animated series. Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Manan animated Spider-Man TV show, which won't become standard in the MCU, is said to be the first of these releases. The show is scheduled to release on Disney Plus on January 29, 2025. Eyes of Wakandaa four-part animated anthology miniseries about Black Panther, is scheduled to hit theaters on August 6, 2025.

Marvel Zombiesa spin-off of Marvel Studios' first animated project What if…?is reportedly set to launch in October 2025, which should make for a spookily fun Halloween watch. Finally, Miracle mana long-running live-action show starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, will debut on one of the top streaming services in December.

If these release dates don't change, it's going to be an incredibly eventful year for Marvel overall. The comic book titan is also preparing to release the final two Marvel Phase 5 films – Captain America: Brave New World And Lightning – in February or May 2025. They are joined by The Fantastic Four: Getting Started in July, which will kick off the final phase of the Marvel Multiverse Saga.

If Marvel releases all of the above-mentioned films and series next year, fans will be able to consume no less than 10 new films and television series in just 12 months. With some industry experts and MCU fans suggesting that the superhero market is already saturated, that's a lot of content for both die-hard and casual viewers.

Naturally, Daredevil: Reborn Other than that, Marvel hasn't officially revealed its 2025 release plan yet. So it's possible that the Disney subsidiary will change one or more of its TV shows' start dates to postpone them, or even postpone them entirely until next year.

In any case, I'm not convinced that Marvel will release seven new series in 2025. As I mentioned earlier, the company wants to limit the number of projects it releases annually, so releasing seven new series in a 12-month period would make a lot of sense. There's a lot that contradicts that plan. With numerous other Disney Plus projects including new Star Wars shows like Andor With Season 2 also expected to debut next year, Disney doesn't want its biggest franchises cannibalizing each other's viewership by fighting for audience attention.

Regardless, the fact that the MCU may be getting ten new productions next year is a byproduct of Marvel's haphazard creative approach in recent years. Instead of focusing on telling a cohesive multiverse-centric story in Phases 4, 5, and 6, the studio's desire to release projects with little to no overarching plan has led to audience apathy and damaged its reputation.

Yes, there were extenuating circumstances: the 2023 Hollywood strikes and a global pandemic affected the development of numerous productions. Nonetheless, the disorganized nature of Marvel's multiverse saga plan is now making itself felt once again. If Marvel moves forward with its apparent goal of releasing seven new series in 2025, I fear viewers will become overwhelmed with the amount of options on offer or, if they haven't already, ultimately lose interest in the MCU.
