9:00 – Oregon started alone at 6 and needed just 10 plays to find the end zone. It caught a key third-down conversion early in the drive and started cooking for the rest of the drive. The big play was a 38-yard pass from Dillon Gabriel to Traeshon Holden down the Oregon sideline. Michigan CB Aamir Hall was burned in coverage but made a TD-saving tackle after the catch. That didn't matter because Noah Whittington found the end zone on the next play and threw it outside for a 6-yard score.

10:40 – Another tough series for the Michigan offense, and once again it started with a negative play. This time it was a short completion to Colston Loveland that resulted in a 3-yard loss, and the Wolverines couldn't recover. On third-and-13, Davis Warren threw a tunnel screen to WR Semaj Morgan for 8 yards. But Michigan decided to punt from the Oregon 42.

11:37 – Michigan's defense forces a much-needed three-pointer deep in Ducks territory. On second-and-8, Dillon Gabriel shot from deep to Evan Stewart, but the ball was a little short and Zeke Berry was there to break it up. Gabriel came under pressure on third down and threw it away.

1:31 – The Ducks are back on the move after starting the drive on their own. They benefited from a harsh passer penalty on Josaiah Stewart. Two plays later, on a second-and-10, HB passed Jordan James for 12 yards, giving Oregon a first down to the Michigan 21 early in the second quarter. The Ducks outgained the Wolverines 102 yards to 34 in the quarter.

4:50 – On the punt, Michigan's Joe Taylor knocked the ball out of the hands of returner Ryan Pellum. The Wolverines recovered and handed the ball off to them at the Oregon 28. Donovan Edwards set the team up for first down with an 18-yard run up the middle. Alex Orji got to the QB for a play and rushed for 4 yards. On third-and-goal from the 7, Davis Warren rolled to his right, lunged across his body and hit Tyler Morris for a TD.

6:53 – Another disastrous offensive performance for Michigan, which suffered a setback on its first possession for the second straight game. Colston Loveland went in motion and took a handoff for a 2-yard loss. Two plays later, Davis Warren failed on third down. He was able to recover but set up a punt on fourth-and-12.

13:19 – Oregon's offense pounded Michigan with quick-hitters throughout the opening drive, capping it off with an incredible catch in the end zone by Evan Stewart that was wrapped up by Michigan CB Aamir Hall. But replays showed the ball hit the ground but the officials didn't check it, so the touchdown stood. Dillon Gabriel was 7 for 7 for 47 yards on the drive, getting the ball to his receivers quickly and allowing those yards to be gained.

14:53 – After a 29-yard kick return by Joe Taylor, Michigan goes 32 yards. The Wolverines were immediately put behind bars when a throw to Donovan Edwards resulted in a 5-yard loss on first down. He gained 8 yards on a second-down carry, but Davis Warren's pass to Colston Loveland on a slant on third-and-7 was broken up, leading to a punt by Tommy Doman.

Former backup Davis Warren is expected to start again at quarterback, but Alex Orji will provide some relief at times. He rushed for 64 yards on six attempts against the Spartans and provided a boost in the running game for Michigan.

The Wolverines face the Ducks for the first time since 2007, and they are double-digit underdogs for the first time since 2017. Oregon ranks in the top 25 overall and scores on both offense and defense. which it defeated 38-9 last week.

QB Dillon Gabriel made a strong case for the Heisman Trophy by leading the country in completion percentage (76.2) and finishing in the top 10 in passing yards per game (296.4) and touchdowns (18).
