Happy Election Day, Delaware!

If you haven't voted yet, today is the day to do your civic duty. Polling stations open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m

Delaware Online/The News Journal reporters will keep you updated on coverage throughout the day, so keep checking back. State results are expected to be available shortly after polls close Tuesday evening.

How do I find my polling station?

Your polling place is identified on your polling place card, which you should receive in the mail.

Did you accidentally throw it away or misplace it in some other way? You can view your record at ivote.de.gov to find out where you are voting. You can also view a sample ballot for your specific district on the website if you would like to find out about candidates in advance.

What can I expect when voting?

Once you check in, you can expect the poll worker to announce your name and political party.

This is required by Delaware law. It is used to inform people at a polling station of a person's identity in case someone wants to challenge your right to vote.

What am I not allowed to wear at the polling station?

People within 15 meters of a polling station are not allowed to carry articles about a candidate, even if they do not directly refer to the candidate by name.

For example, a MAGA hat would not be allowed. A Kamala Harris “I Speak” t-shirt probably wouldn’t be allowed either.

Voters also cannot project sounds related to campaigns or candidates.

What if I encounter voter intimidation or another issue?

Voters who fear a perceived threat to their safety should call 911.

Voters concerned about another issue may contact the Department of Elections Voter Hotline at (302) 739-4277.
