NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University volleyball program concluded its home schedule Tuesday night with a straight-sets victory over Austin Peay State University at Allen Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Although the Bisons took a 4-1 lead, the Governors used an 11-4 run to lead 12-8 before a timeout.

After coming out of the Lipscomb timeout, they capitalized on consecutive attack errors and an Addi Pelham kill to get the Bisons back to even 12 points each.

Later in the set, with a 17-15 lead, the Bisons scored three straight kills from Berkley Mischler, Sophia Hudepohl and Courntey Jones to take a 20-15 lead en route to a 25-20 set win.

From there, LUV prevailed as the Bisons surpassed 15 kills and the Govs 11. A 15-9 run in the second set helped the Bisons to a 25-16 victory.

In the third set, the Bisons shut down the Governors' attack, allowing the visitors nine kills and a .000 attack percentage. Meanwhile, the Lipscomb offense committed four errors on 39 total swings, totaling 14 for a .256 offensive clip.

APSU cut the deficit to 20-17, but kills from Karlie McNabb and Brooklyn Fuchs clinched the title for LUV's final home game of 2024.

KEY STATISTICS
Karlie McNabb recorded a match-high 14 kills and added six digs.

Courtney Jones and Meg Mersman each scored a total of 10 points on the night. Jones had nine kills and two assisted blocks, while Mersman recorded seven kills and four total blocks.
