Ionescu dribbled left, stepped back and delivered perhaps the greatest shot in franchise history. She hit the long three-pointer and moved toward the Target Center crowd.

New York won the game 80-77 to take a 2-1 lead.

“I couldn’t even remember it properly. I had to watch the video real quick to see how far I had come,” Ionescu said after the game. “I feel like I was able to get a little bit of distance and hit a really good shot.”

With New York just one game away from a WNBA championship, Breanna Stewart expects Minnesota to give it their all in Game 4.

“We know we're just one game away from winning the championship and I think they're going to give us their best,” Stewart said. “They’ll give it everything they’ve got, and guess what, so will we. The turnaround is happening quickly, but we will remain ready.”

Ionescu had 13 points and six assists. Steward led New York with 30 points and 11 rebounds.

They led New York back from a 15-point deficit.

Lynx star Napheesa Collier had 22 points and Kayla McBride had 19 points.

“Our defense gave us a chance to win the game and our offense will help our defense,” Minnesota coach Cheryl Reeve said. “If you told me that we would have gotten the number of stops that we did and that we would have played that out and that we wouldn't have scored 80 points, that would be a surprise to me.”
