“Leon Bridges Finds 'Peaceful Place' Tops Adult Alternative Airplay Charts”

Leon Bridges' “Peaceful Place” becomes his third No. 1 hit billboard's Adult Alternative Airplay chart, landing at the top of the list dated October 19th.

The song is Bridges' first hit in six years, as “Bad Bad News” was number one for five weeks starting in May 2018. With “Smooth Sailin'” he landed at number 1 for the first time for two weeks in February and March 2016.

Although “Peaceful Place” ends a six-year wait at the top of Adult Alternative Airplay for Bridges, the Atlanta native has remained a fixture on the charts since his last reign, with nine entries between his last two No. 1s. During that time, he achieved five top 10 placements, followed by the No. 2 peak “Beyond” in 2018; “Motorbike” (No. 3, 2021) and his Noah Cyrus collaboration “July” (No. 4, 2020) also reached the top 5. Since his first entry, “Coming Home” (No. 7, 2015), he has a total of Have 10 top 10 placements.

Meanwhile, “Peaceful Place” moves to No. 39-35 on the all-rock audience-based rock and alternative airplay charts for the week ending Oct. 10 with 1 million audience views, up 8%, according to Luminate. It marks Bridges' highest ranking since “Bad Bad News,” which reached No. 31 in 2018.

“Peaceful Place” is the lead single from LeonBridges' fourth studio album. It was released on October 4th and is expected to enter the rankings dated October 19th, which will be updated on Tuesday, October 15th on Billboard.com. The predecessor of the LP, gold digger sound, peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 in August 2021 and has achieved 198,000 equivalent album units to date.
