Lady Chevrons suffer a new setback as Captain Mary-Anne is eliminated from the upcoming USA Series clash

Zimbabwe's senior women's cricket team has suffered a major setback as captain Mary-Anne Musonda will miss the upcoming five-match One Day International series against the United States of America, scheduled to begin on Thursday in Harare.

The five-match series runs until October 28, with all matches being played at Harare Sports Club.

Musonda will miss the upcoming clash due to injury, making her the second regular player to be sidelined after Kellis Ndlovu, who is taking part in her A-level exams.

Although the captain will be missing from the upcoming series, Zimbabwe have included four young players who represented the country in the ICC Under-19 Women's World Cup qualifier in Africa last month in the squad that will play against the USA.

The four players are Runyararo Pasipanodya, Olinder Chare, Tendai Makusha and Beloved Bhiza, who is no stranger to the senior national team.
