Kelsea Ballerini presents “Patterns” on “Fallon”

Kelsea Ballerini was released on The Tonight Show to introduce their current song “Patterns”. Ballerini performed with backup singers and a live band, singing on a pile of luggage as the sunset lit the stage behind her.

“Patterns” comes from the musician’s new LP of the same name. It is Ballerini's first studio album since the release of her fourth record. Subject to changein 2022. She gave a preview earlier this year Pattern with the singles “Sorry Mom” and “Two Things” as well as their Noah Kahan duet “Cowboys Cry Too”.

Ballerini sat down with host Jimmy Fallon to chat about it PatternShe also performed a sold-out show at Madison Square Garden and met boyfriend Chase Stokes by sliding into his DMs. She explained that she got to use a hydraulic elevator to enter MSG, which was exciting because she had seen Britney Spears do it a year ago.

“So I always wanted one,” she told Fallon. “About the biggest dream as a little child. So movement. So dramatic.”

As for Stokes, who plays the lead role Outer BanksBallerini confirmed that it was she who made the first move.

“I was kind of newly single and I have a lot of friends who live in Charleston and they said, 'Hey, do you know Chase Stokes?' And I thought, 'I know him.' But let me tell you why I never told this story. I think it was 2021. I was on a flight. It was like 5am. Ungodly hour. I was about to fall asleep and there was a young girl who came up to the person sitting behind me and was almost freaking out and fangirling. And I heard that he was so kind to her and gave her so much time and attention and intention.”

She peeked through the hole in her seat and saw it was Stokes, but then missed him. “It was just beautiful to see,” she said. “He's a good, good man.” It wasn't until a few years later that she contacted him and they started dating. “It’s funny how the universe works,” Ballerini told Fallon.

Ballerini will be on the road to support Pattern in 2025. The three-month, 30-city arena trek is scheduled to begin on January 21, 2025 at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It will span the entire month of February and March, ending March 30 at Ball Arena in Denver. MaRynn Taylor and Maisie Peters will be supporting us throughout the run.
