“This is a fight I will never give up”

“In our nation, we owe loyalty not to a president or a party, but to the Constitution of the United States and to our conscience and our God. “My allegiance to all three is why I am here, to say that while I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign: the fight for freedom, for opportunity and for justice and dignity of all people,” Harris wrote.

She continued in the thread: “We fight for the ideals at the heart of our nation.” The ideals that reflect America at its best. This is a fight I will never give up. I will never give up the fight for a future in which Americans can realize their dreams, ambitions and aspirations.”

Harris then vowed that she would “never give up the fight for a future where women have the freedom to make decisions about their own bodies and that their government does not tell them what to do,” and vowed to “stand for the “We will never give up the fight for the rule of law, equal justice and for the sacred idea that each of us, no matter who we are or where we start, is entitled to certain basic rights and has freedoms that must be respected and preserved,” she added.

Harris emphasized, “This is a time of organizing, mobilizing and engaging for freedom, justice and the future we all know we can build together,” not “throwing up our hands.” “I started as a prosecutor. Throughout my career, I have seen people at some of the worst times in their lives – people who suffered great pain but still found the strength within themselves to take a stand. Let their courage be our inspiration. Your determination should be our task,” she said.

She continued: “There's a saying: Only when it's dark enough can you see the stars.” I know a lot of people feel like we're entering a dark time. For everyone's sake, I hope this isn't the case. But America, if it is so: let us fill the sky with the light of a billion bright stars.”

Harris concluded, “May the light of optimism, faith, truth and service guide us – even in the face of setbacks – to the extraordinary promise of the United States of America.” May God bless you and may God the United States of America bless. Thank you all.”

Harris also said she spoke with President-elect Donald Trump and congratulated him on his election victory. She promised to work for a “peaceful transfer of power”.
