Jon Stewart will remain host of The Daily Show until 2025.

Jon Stewart isn't going anywhere any time soon.

“The Daily Show” alum, who returned to the Comedy Central talk show as interim host in February, will continue to host the show through 2025, Paramount Global announced Monday.

“Jon’s sharp intellect and sharp wit make him one of the most important voices in political and cultural commentary today,” said Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and president/CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios.

“His ability to cut through the noise and provide clear insight is exactly what we need. “That’s why we’re thrilled to have him lead The Daily Show for another year,” McCarthy said in the press release.

Stewart's surprise return came after former host Trevor Noah ended his seven-year stint on “The Daily Show” and the program needed a new lead role.

The show used a rotating roster of guest hosts following his departure, including Leslie Jones and Sarah Silverman, but had yet to decide on a permanent replacement after Hasan Minhaj, reportedly a front-runner, wrote negatively about his truthfulness in his standup in a New Yorker article comedy was reported.

Stewart, who hosts “The Daily Show” on Mondays, will continue to share hosting duties with alternate hosts Tuesday through Thursday.

“I really enjoyed working with the incredible team at 'The Daily Show' and Comedy Central again,” Stewart said in a statement, jokingly adding, “I was really hoping they would allow me to come on every other Monday work, but.” I just have to suck it up.

Stewart returned to lead election coverage, and the show included live coverage of the presidential debates leading up to the 2024 general election. “The Daily Show” returned live for the second debate, the first pitting the Democratic nominee for Vice President Kamala Harris and the Republican nominee for former President Donald Trump face off. Stewart joked about the debate's “refreshing” return to candidates dodging questions.

“After getting through the post-traumatic stress disorder of the last presidential debate, I just want to say how incredibly refreshing it is to go back to the way things were. Nobody will answer any… questions!” Stewart shouted after watching excerpts from the first question about the US economy. “We’re back!”

“The Daily Show” airs weekdays at 11pm ET/PT on Comedy Central and the next day on Paramount+.
