President Joe Biden posted a heartwarming video of him and his “good friend” Jimmy Carter to mark the former president's 100th birthday.

Biden, who posted the clip on his X account (formerly Twitter), captioned it, “To put it simply: I admire you so much.”

In a voiceover, Biden says of Carter: “You have always been a moral force for our nation in the world.”

He also says that Carter is a “voice of courage, conviction, compassion and, most of all, a beloved friend to Jill, me and my family.”

Biden continues: “Your hopeful vision for our country, your commitment to a better world, and your unwavering belief in the power of human kindness continue to be a guiding light for us all.”

Biden also calls Carter one of the most influential statesmen in U.S. history and says Carter's “moral clarity” shone through even after he left office.

Biden ends the video with a picture of himself as a young senator meeting Carter in the Oval Office and says, “You were a good friend.”

Biden wasn't the only former president to pay a heartfelt tribute to Carter on his birthday.

Former President Barack Obama also posted a video on his X account in which he speaks directly to the camera and says: “I have always admired President Carter for many things. His achievements in the White House. His incredible influence since leaving office. Its basic decency.

“Jimmy, thank you for your friendship, your example, and for always finding new ways to remind us that we are all made in God’s image. Happy Birthday.”

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp today proclaimed Jimmy Carter Day in the state of Georgia. Kemp posted on X: “Marty, the girls and I send him best wishes as he and his family celebrate this milestone.”

The account posted today read: “It's midnight in Georgia… the moment we've been waiting for! Jimmy Carter is now officially 100 years old! Happy birthday, Mr. President.”

Also in celebration, the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum is offering $1 (100 cents) admission and hosting Peter Biello for a live broadcast of his show “All Things Considered” on Georgia Public Broadcast and National Public Radio.
