JJ Watt claps back at Giants OT's TJ Watt's controversial comments: “What are you doing?”

JJ Watt claps back at Giants OT's TJ Watt's controversial comments: “What are you doing?”

On Tuesday, New York Giants offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor said TJ Watt did nothing against him when they met on an island. Aside from the “one-impact play,” as Eluemunor explained, Watt was out of action for most of the game.

“I was on an island with him for most of the game. And he didn't do anything at all. I’m not going to fucking sit here and sing his praises,” Eluemunor said on WFAN radio. “He didn't do that. I did everything for three and a half quarters and had an impact play.”

Watt had six pressures and two sacks in the game. Eluemunor said before the game that he wanted to be on an “island” with Watt. The comments reached JJ Watt, who was during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. JJ hit back at Eluemunor, whose comments struck him as downright strange.

“I mean, what are we doing here, man? What are you doing? You gave up a strip sack that lost the game,” JJ said. “Before the game, this guy says, 'I want to be on an island with TJ.' TJ goes out there, seven tackles, two sacks, forced fumble, strip sack, wins the game. Guy was on an island in the play. One-on-one conversations on the island, that's your job. The most important play of the game: You didn’t do it.”

It's no surprise that JJ is hitting back at these comments from Eluemunor. TJ went straight after the game, explaining that it was more about competition and that he appreciated any challenge.

However, Eluemunor's statement that he shut Watt down for most of the game simply isn't true given the stats listed above. He clearly made the difference in the game.
