Jeremy Clarkson lashes out at Rachel Reeves as he issues 10-word budget warning | Celebrity News | Showbiz and television

TV star Jeremy Clarkson leads calls to stop the rise in fuel consumption and urges Rachel Reeves to consider the impact on businesses and families.

The Chancellor is expected to raise fuel duty by 7p in today's Budget, which would increase the cost of filling up the average family car by almost £4.

The Clarkson's Farm star and Sun columnist voiced his concerns over the looming fuel hike, sharing: “If you live in Kentish Town you have plenty of transport options readily available to you. If you don't live in Kentish Town, this isn't you. You need a car.

He concluded: “You have to be able to afford to drive it.”

Meanwhile, Shadow Chancellor Jeremy Hunt said: “Every single person will remember this if the Chancellor betrays them today.”

Former cabinet ministers Dame Priti Patel and Esther McVey also warned that an increase in fuel duty would have a significant impact on the finances of working people.

Tory MP Saqib Bhatti criticized the Chancellor's alleged tax rises in the Budget, describing them as a “socialist raid” on ordinary people.

He said: “The least the Chancellor can do is support Britain’s 37 million motorists and keep fuel costs low this winter by maintaining the 5p fuel duty rate frozen by the Conservatives.”

Jeremy's supporters have rallied behind the star to support his stance. Just because patrol.orices went down a little doesn't mean they will go up again at some point, it will also be inflationary.”

A second person chimed in: “Surely that can’t be right? I was glad to have given Labor a chance, but all they seem to do is bash everyone from working people to pensioners. This climb will have a big impact on me. This budget will be a disaster for many people. Some will wonder why they voted for her.”

A third wrote: “That’s because the Chancellor and Labor are robbing shit. The fuel is already taxed to the maximum limit!”
